MISSING ITEMS

Through all this adventure, there have been some items that have been either too difficult to obtain, were missing on an edition already obtained or are just items with some added value to the collection.

For all these reasons, this section will list missing items o curious objects that, if possible, will be added to this collection in the future.

CHAOS;CHILD: GIGALOMANIAC EDITION

Released in October 13th, 2017, distributed in the western markets by PQUBE. It was sold exclusively through the English website Rice Digital, with the initial prices $64.99/€72.49/£49.99.

This edition contains:

  • A physical copy of the game for either PS4 or Vita.

  • A high-quality special box.

  • An illustration book with 128 pages.

  • The Original Sountrack of the game (“Selected Works” version).

  • A set of 6 exclusive pins.

Update: During the development of this web site, a miracle happened and was possible to get this edition.

For the moment you can see a photo of this edition, and the photoshoot of the items and the unboxing video will be published as soon as possible.

CINEMA TICKET INCLUDED IN STEINS;GATE DOUBLE PACK (FOR VITA)

Steins;Gate Double Pack for Vita was released a month before the premiere of the movie, called

Steins;Gate: Load of Region of Déjà Vu (劇場版 シュタインズ・ゲート 負荷領域のデジャヴ). Due to this, the limited edition of this title contained, alongside other items, a cinema ticket to go watch it. I got this edition in 2018 at a secondhand store in Akihabara, Tokio. It was during the recording of the unboxing for ArchaeoVG that I noticed the missing ticket. Surprisingly, it seemed that the previous owner had used it.

This ticket is very similar to ones that were sold on pre-sale at some stores in Japan, so I should be careful on which ticket is bought for the collection in the future.

Update: During the development of this site, a friend from Japan got a ticket from this edition, and will donate it for the collection. Once I get it, the photos will be taken and added to the gallery.

STEINS;GATE CHINESE LIMITED EDITION

Steins;Gate was released for the Chinese market in February 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360.

This title also had a limited edition, which contained the following items:

  • A microwave box with Banana Gel.

  • OST with selected tracks.

  • The book “Visual Collection”

  • “Labmem” pin.

As you can observe, most of these items were distributed through different titles: the Banana Gel and the OST in the Double Pack edition for PS3, and the book “Visual Collection” in the Xbox 360 edition.

The unique item, not previously distributed in any title, is the pin. This one was obtained separately at the

Comiket77 in 2009, where it was possible to buy as a 2-pin set, and those were the ones obtained for ArchaeoVG.

Since most of these items were already documented, it was decided not to prioritize the search of this edition. However, that doesn’t mean its inclusion in the collection later on is out of the question, as it would represent a very interesting added value to it, documenting both the box and flyer that contains the pin.

STEINS;GATE DOUBLE PACK VITA

Talking again about this version, Steins;Gate Double Pack for Vita actually has 2 versions: the aforementioned

Limited Edition, and a standard edition that just contains both games in a plain box.

The latter edition has a very strange behavior in the market: sometimes it spikes in price very hard, getting even more expensive that the limited edition; other times it can get really cheap.

METALUPA EARBUDS + GOLDEN UPA

As a special promotion for the release of Steins;Gate Loving for PSP, a special lottery was celebrated in Japan at various shops that were selling the game at the time. If you bought the game, you could participate to win a similar earbuds to the ones contained in the limited edition, with the difference that these ones where colored in gold and silver, as opposed to the blue and pink of the limited edition ones. You could also win a golden Upa, very similar to the metallic one obtainable in the Western console version of Steins;Gate.

PRE-SALE GIFTS

It’s very common that, during the release of a game, shops give gifts to the clients that bought the title on pre-sale. Most of the time, all the shops have the same pre-sale gifts, but sometimes a shop can have an exclusive pre-sale gift, looking to attract more customers.

This has happened several times with various SciADV titles: Canvas, posters, cards and keychains. Many of these items have already been obtained for the collection, but haven’t been documented yet.

VARIANT COVERS

Most of the time, the cover for multi-platform titles are the same for all of them, just changing the console logo. However, there are some titles that have different covers between all the platforms where it was released, some of them not included in the collection. These are : Phantom Breaker: Extra for Xbox 360 and Phantom Breaker: BattleGrounds Overdrive for Vita.

WESTERN EDITION OF PHANTOM BREAKER

Here we have the case of a title that was never released. In 2012, 7SIXTY planned to distribute the American version of Phantom Breaker for Xbox 360. It would have a Limited Edition that, supposedly, would contain: a calendar, an artbook (with a miniguide) and posters in a special box. However, after lots of delays, 7SIXTY informed through Facebook that they had problems with the distribution, stating that "the current boxed game business model and shifting digital gaming trends have made it difficult to bring this game to market as originally planned". After years of silence, they declared that this edition have been canceled.

As part of the promotion of this title, a curious item was made:

7SIXTY launched a contest through their website, social media and different anime events in the USA, where it was possible to win 2 arcade sticks built and customized by the shop Eightarc.

Documented photos of those sticks can be found as proof of the existence of those items.

FAMICOM ADV STEINS;GATE

As shown in the section dedicated to this game , this is a work in progress, but we still need the information of the box to complete and recreate all the visual elements in order to assemble the most accurate replica possible to Chiyomaru’s version.

REMEMBER; THIS IS JUST A FANMADE WORK, AND THERE ARE NO PLANS TO DISTRIBUTE IT BY ANY MEANS.

FUTURE TITLES

As of today, we are documenting some titles that are still on development, and as soon as they are obtained, they will be properly documented in the future. Those titles are:

  • Occultic;Nine for Switch

  • Steins;Gate 0 Elite

  • Steins;???

All titles don’t have a confirmed release date.

SPECIUM;BOYS

Fake title announced as an April’s Fool joke in 2014. Then it was taken as a project by Chiyomaru Shikura and Tsuburaya Productions (Ultraman). The purpose or future of this project is unknown.

It could be said that the next 2 items would "complete" the collection.

But there are 2 items that could be considered ludic media and haven’t been documented properly. While the acquisition of those items is still in the works, these will be described in the next section of this page.

PACHINKO

Considering his ludic studies and documentation about the SciADV, Roy wanted to add 2 Pachinko machines based on Steins;Gate to his collection, with the goal of gathering all the ludic, technical and historic information that they add to this fictional universe, and show it to the western users of this site.

Currently, this section includes briefings about those machines and I'm looking to update it in the future until the documentation is complete.

Steins;Gate Inductance of World Rotation

Hypothetical Science Pachislot Steins;Gate Inductance of World Rotation

(想定科学パチスロ STEINS;GATE 廻転世界のインダクタンス) is a pachinko machine developed by Oizumi and released in September 2015. An update was released 2 years later.

This machine tells the main plot of Steins;Gate, adding new scenes, sprites and animations. The most notable inclusions were the song “IF” (by Ayane) and new animations like the famous Daru & Yuki’s wedding.

Gameplay consists in aligning and combining 3 sprites pressing a button to stop an spinning cylinder, which contains the previously mentioned sprites, while you can watch on a screen some animations depending on the results of your run.

CR STEINS GATE

This pachinko machine, developed by Newgin, was released in June 2018 with its CR mode, and on December with its PA mode, released in two colors, white and red.

Like the previous machine, this one also tells the main plot of Steins;Gate, expanding on the story. However, gameplay is very different to World Rotation. This machine combines digital elements (on screen) with mechanical (physical) elements. Being somewhat similar to a pinball machine, with some balls interacting with the typical results of a pachinko machine, but inside the software.

Current state of this research and potencial purchase has gotten difficult in 2020 due to multiple reasons, mainly imports and commercial deals with Japan. But the work will continue while the situation starts to improve.
